Felicia Ferrone founded her namesake brand fferrone in Milan in 2001 with a simple but radical idea: that everyday objects deserve to be extraordinary and enduring.

Trained as an architect and shaped by the city itself, she designs glassware the way architects design buildings, toying with gravity, mass, space, form, and linearity to achieve compositions that feel both inevitable and surprising. Simple or primary forms, classic proportions, and the complete absence of adornment.

Each piece is handcrafted without molds by master glassblowers in the Czech Republic — achieving forms that exist neither of the past nor present, but of an uncompromising future. Film directors have chosen fferrone for numerous productions including John Wick and Star Wars, reaching for them when a scene needs objects that speak tomorrow's design language. The Revolution Collection is in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.

In addition to her practice, Ferrone is director of Undergraduate Studies and Clinical Associate Professor of Industrial Design in the School of Design at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) where she seeks to inspire the next generation of dynamic thinkers and makers who—while taught to create the singular, highly resolved formal object—are guided to arrive at their design solutions through a process of deep research and critical thinking. Ferrone served as Director of Graduate Studies of Industrial Design at UIC from 2015–2022 and taught as Lecturer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 2010–2015.
